Interesting EQ for my FOH bass

So I run sound for the band. Usually, I either use a VT BASS, BDDI, or BP355 straight to the board or my small amp and can DI'd from back of amp. I've been struggling withmuddy bass thru subs and tops FOH. Trouble EQing it out.
Last gig my DI on died. Didn't have the pedals, so I ran and XLR out from my Shure wireless receiver straight to board. Basically, straight bass. We use an Allen & Heath MixWiz board. I then worked the channel strip EQ and WOW, clear powerful bass, nice lows, punchy mids and good treble. Nice mix from both subs and tops.
Awhile back I read an article about how you can easily over EQ bass when using amps, pedals, etc. I didn't want to believe it until I stripped it down and fed the bass direct and relied only on the board's channel strip EQ. Very impressed.

you've found "your" tone, and it happens to be the bass straight in to the board! how convenient

actually, it's bass==>buffer (the wireless)==>board.

(i'm a sansamp guy myself, the significant coloring of the BDDI is "my" sound.)

My BDDI sounds great to FOH. I just use it for some tube emulation/grind and am not to crazy with the EQ. I also run my blend between 12&2 o'clock. Nice fat tube sound that growls when I really dig in. Great for my 3 piece blues/classic rock band.

I use a mix wiz too, which is why I asked. They are incredibly cool mixers.

I recently started mic'ing my cab and I'm still screwing around with the 4 band to see what I like best. Thanks.
