Interesting headstock logo ideas

I'm building (well, assembling) myself a Warmoth with an Indian rosewood neck, and I'm trying to come up with ideas for a headstock logo. I'd love to do an inlay, but I'm not really skilled in woodwork.

Decals are interesting, but I'm not really sure a decal would look all that great on rosewood, plus it's unfinished, so I'm not sure that a decal would look all that great because you'd see the outline.

Other than inlays and decals, what are some interesting ways to personalize a headstock?

Two builders that do inlay work, although differently, are Memphis Guitar Spa, in Tenn and Stephen Ziegenfuss in Mich. The guitar Spa cuts and inlays manually where Stephen cnc's the channel. Try giving each a call for ideas and pricing.

I can make you a glass inlay, look at borosilicate marbles and pendants, imagine them flat. I inlayed a huge tigers eye cab once , that was nice. If you use silver wire then sand it flush on dark wood it looks like stars. Makes great position markers too, surprised not many people use it.

That sounds like it would look really nice. I guess the problem would be getting the inlay in there. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with doing it myself.

If it's somethingbyoubare really interested in it can be pretty easy to install, I make 1" circular discs that could actually be glued right to the top of the wood. I glued gemstone cabachons with good results too.

You could also have a jewler cut a piece of 16gauge sterling plate stock to your design, like this

Another way cheaper option would be to use copper sheet, coat with photoresist for circuit boards, print your logo on acetate clear film, expose. Then place in saltwater attached to a battery charger to tech it. Steampunk style. An entire headstock might look cool, in the 70-80s they added plates to breadsticks to increase sustain. Doubt it does anything but hey, looks cool.

Some great ideas, thanks!

Here's mine. Found a local sheet metal fabricator that has a laser cutting machine and sent them a cad file with my logo. Wasn't much money and they came out nice.
