There is one thing to be aware of regarding the Focusrite Scarlett - when you use an XLR connector, you CANNOT set the port to INST level input. it can only be MIC level. You need to use the 1/4" connector on the port, then engage the INST level button. Otherwise, you have an impedance mis-match that often results in a thin and distorted sound.

New strings, dead strings, or anywhere in between regardless of string type, manufacturer, or any other factor that can be applied; The same methodology applies. Adjust the volume on the bass and the input gain on the interface until the desired level is reached. Anywhere between -18 and -6 dbfs is perfectly fine and a safe bet to avoid clipping the AD.

In reaper Left master volume is at 6-12 db
Right is 6-18( I guess it is headphone)

When I record in Ableton, there is an annoying buzzing sound when I touch the strings, but this does not happen in Reaper.

I think my Ableton is problematic, I installed the old version(10) by writing the registration number of the new version, it came with the interface, because my computer did not run the new version.

When I switched to Reaper, the headphone volume increased a lot and no buzzing sound

I can't tell what's happening in your photo, but if your signal is peaking between -18 and -6 dbfs then there is no problem with amplitude.

Thanks to you I realized that my ableton was problematic, there is a noticeable difference in the sound level and I also had a lot of buzzing problems with ableton.

I think there was a problem because I was using the old version of ableton with the new version register number and it was not working properly. I noticed this when I switched to reaper.
