Album collection going back to the late 60's, but no record player.

As a smoker, I am required by law to be a fan of Bill Hicks. It's on the carton.

Read the "chick vs.Chick with bass" thread starting on page one.

It's Friday, do you have your cereal bowl? (sorry, had to do it)

Happy Birthday! How old will you be? You gotta do something to commemorate!

I try and buy things ahead of when I'll want them when ordering online.
Lol, that doesnt make sense, of course, and I know so.

Whats the best way to have a good birthday?

IMO, the best way is to have a significant other who adores you. Works for me.

Do you collect anything (other than basses)?

I used to collect moose, David Winter cottages and antique tea cups, but anymore they all just seem to be a waste of money and more things to dust. So I've decided to collect memories instead. Hope I don't get Alzheimer's too soon.

In what way do you find yourself changing as you get older?

Mostly my ability to really pull from each moment it's unique joy and beauty ** I shamelessly stole that bit from a quote I really really love **. Sometimes I have to put aside more base feelings, to get to that point, but that I can do that is, in itself, something of a personal revelation. I would say Fooling Yourself by Styx .. instead of it being sung to me by a kindly guide, I am the one singing it to others now.

** Seize from every moment its unique novelty, and do not prepare your joys. - Andre Gide.

Do you have a favorite quote?

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." -Gandalf

(understand what you mean about Foolin' Yourself. Wish I could get my son to see it)

When books are made into movies, do you find yourself generally liking the books better or the movies better?

Almost always. This includes series ( Wizards First Rule comes quickly to mind ). Ursula K Leguins Earth Sea Trilogy was made into a pretty good animated series however.

Do you have a favorite and least favorite book to movie conversion?

( my Fav -- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Phillip K Dick. Least Fav -- Dune by Frank Herbert )

LOTR is my least favorite. By far. Hands down. No question about it. Beautiful, great music, but it really makes me mad and it takes a darn lot to make me mad. I'm ok with Harry Potter though because I really like a lot of the special effects. I'd love to have floating candles.

Oh, questions. It's too late to think of questions! Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Psst, <.< ...... >.> ......... ö¿ö ---> Disgusting, isn't it? was the question :D

Reach under the mattress for my personal invasion repulsing tool ( a smith and wesson .460 ) grab my pen light and go figure it out.

Guns. Useful, and fun or not in my house!

I hope to be getting my firearms license soon (I'm in Canada). I find that they're useful and fun (obviously, fun when the necessary safety precautions are taken). I firmly believe in protecting your own by yourself. In the worst case scenario, it's you standing alone against what ever may be going on until the police arrive. It's those precious minutes that may keep you and yours safe. So...Yes. Having a pistol and a small flashlight close by is definitely useful.

Are you a fan of cleaning your ears with Q-tips? (it feels sooo good!)
