Intonation Question

I have just begun setting up my own guitars. Its going pretty well. I do have a question though about the Intonation. I got all the strings intonated but the low E string's saddle had to come really far back to the bridge to get it intonated. Am I missing something or does it sometimes have to be really far back? Its a Lakland 44-02. Thanks

A few things...

1) The string might be bad and just not intonating properly

2) Make sure it is breaking over the saddle properly. I usually push down while tuning up to make sure of this.

3) Get a longer screw. You should be able to find one at the hardware store

How far off is it?
