Double Bass Introduction and Tarantella by C. Franchi

Hi,

Does anyone have any information about the composer of the "Introduction and Tarantella" named C. Franchi ? That piece is in the book of Oscar Zimmerman "Solos for Doiuble-Bass". I'm especially looking for his dates of birth and death, in order to be included in a music program.

Did you ever find out about C. Franchi? I'm learning the very same piece for a recital, and haven't had any luck finding out about the composer. It's a great piece and I hope it worked well for your program.

What period is this piece? Oxford Dictionary has a reference to a Carlo Franchi, approx dates 1743-1779, from Naples.
