Hello TB, I have come over here from Mx after hearing great things about this board and its members! I've been playing bass for three years this May :), I'm 17, from England and I play a Musicman Sterling Bass (Black Sparkle, Pearloid Pic Guard).

Hope to be able to help out a lot round here! I'm sure a lot of you will be able to help me with things too! Anyway keep up the great work with the forums!

    Cheers,

    Andy ;)

  2. Welcome to Talkbass, MMSterling. :)

I think you'll like it here.

    Mike ;)

P.S. I have a Stingray. Bongos are all the rage here lately, but I haven't played one yet.

It is by far the best forum on the internet for bass players.

I came here from the same place. I haven't been back much, if it all. This site is much more intelligent, and mature.

Welcome abouard bro. Oh yeah, do you live anywhere near Jamie Oliver?

Erm I think Jamie Oliver lives in London, in which case I'm about 70 miles away from London. So not really that close! Wasn't expecting that question lol :p

  11. Welcome to TalkBass! Hope you enjoy your time here...since you have now logged on to the site though...you will no longer have a life...

Also, be on the look out for Treena with her "Smilie Faces of Death." ;) She's probably one of the most knowledgeable persons on this forum...

Welcome. You'll notice signal:noise is much better here than most boards.

    Nice bass choice.

    Welcome Mr. Sterling.

I too own and play a Sterling. I need a Bongo badly. Everyone else here already knows this.

Your black sparkle Sterling is the exact bass I wanted originally but I didn't have the patience to wait for the fancy paint. I was searching for a Bongo in the same color and found out they discontinued it. You're a lucky man to own what is now I guess a custom bass - or no longer available one.

I believe you will enjoy your stay at talkbass as we tend to be a bunch of fairly entertaining, well informed, and sometimes even nice group of people. Have fun. Don't talk about FiELdy. Or tab.

Now wait just a dang blang minute...there is nothing wrong with Fieldy's playing style. If any of the posters here had half the talent he has they'd be too busy gigging and pulling in the bling to be wasting time here!!! He's a pioneer of the ultra-scoop floppy string technique and Korn would not be what it is today if it weren't for him.
Yet his name gets bashed here time and time again and I for one am sick of it!!!

    BTW...welcome to TB.
