iOS Bass Players Thread #5, V, or cinco, take yer pick.

Just copying my post from the previous part:
New song from Rude Duke, and our entry to the contest.
I wrote this song as kind of a journey into my partially viking past.
I used both my Ric and my Geddy. Jamup featuring BDDI, BassMaster, GK 700RB, Fender Super Bassman and Orange AD200 and.... Gelileo Organ.
Evangelos added great guitar work and kudos to him doing great job once again even though he have a family visit and he have to share his iPad with his nieces!!
He once again shows the power of his Ibby and Ampkit.
Btw, don't worry, there is nothing wrong with Evangelos voice!!! It is me doing the "vocals" this time..

Quick update:
My drummer issues have worked themselves out, the band is no more. During our third set on Friday night, the drummer thought it would be a great idea to get totally hammered, and completely embarrassed us. He was sloppy, and said so much stupid crap over the mic (including bitching me out for the bad sound, when him and the guitarist were running his new PA!). A couple songs into the last set, he once again pushed the volume to the point of feedback. Of course this resulted in a low rumble of feedback the moment he hit his kick drum, so what does he do? He stops the song, and rags me out over the mic for the low feedback. I responded by pointing to my bass and telling him (in not very nice words) that my volume wasn't even on!! The embarrassment continued through the set, ending with him chasing 90% of the crowd out of the bar with his drunken ramblings. Seriously, even the band wives were mortified. Of course, he accepted NONE of the blame, and tried to lay it all on me. I hit my breaking point, and the second we hit the last note, I tore down and loaded up. Didn't say a word to him, collected my pay and split, leaving him to tear his own gear down and load his drums and PA by himself!!
Here's the kicker. After I left, he apparently freaked out and went off. He started yelling (still a few customers left, and the bar owner) about how I was an ******* for leaving right after we finished, and that I was a bad bassist (yeah, ok) and how he never should have hired me for HIS band. Obviously, we will never be booked back at the club.
The guitarist's wife called my wife yesterday to make sure I wasn't mad at the guitarist, which I'm not. He's a good guy, just doesn't make any waves so he never spoke up about the drummer. That's how I found out about his rant, and she was just as mortified as the rest of us.
I'm actually pretty shocked by all of this. His outburst, and his performance as a whole, was on the level of a kid garage band. It was that bad.
And once again, every song I sang, he made sure to step all over the vocals with fills and off-key (and much louder than the lead vocal) backing vocals. Of course, he made sure to blame me over the mic for it. His hearing is so damaged (and he will deny he has a problem) that he has to crank everything to bleeding ear level just to hear himself. Seriously, his monitor is so loud that it overpowers the FOH and causes his vocals to be the loudest thing in the room, which means if I'm singing, his backing vocals are way louder than the lead vocals. And he doesn't see it as a problem.
It took every ounce of reserve that I had to not plow my bass into his forehead.
So the problem has solved itself. I gave him enough rope to hang himself, and he did.
I am now a solo artist!! My plan is to regroup, write a bunch of tunes, and go out and play them first as a duet with my wife (I'll be singing and playing acoustic guitar (!!), and she'll be singing as well), then when I feel we have enough material I'm going to form a band around the new songs. Of course I'll play bass in that band.
And I'm taking my iOS rig along for the ride. This whole mess could have caused me to give up on bands, but I'm angry enough about it that I'm gonna get back out there just to spite that asshat.
Who would've thought that these apps would have caught on so well!! Can't wait to see what we're all doing with it when part 6 gets here!!

SolarMan, please tell me if our song qualify for the contest. I mean I do not have any parts with only bass or only bass and drums, but I feel like there is sufficient amounts of seconds where the bass is obviously an dominant lead instrument.
If, not just tell, me, I'll add automation to achieve only bass and drums fro 5sec.

I use this gear, but I don't have a total and thorough understanding like most of the dudes on this thread - including you.
It is strange that I'm even here at all because I am a late adopter. Very late. I just happened to catch wind of this making music with the iPad and decided to jump in!
(Wife is the early adopter type and had the iPad already)
I mostly just bumble around and get sounds that I like and go with it. And I mess around with the hardware way too much. Even used my old Bassman TV as a DI at one point.
I'm just enjoying the fine waters here in iOS land, but the best thing for me is all of the original music that comes out of this thread. It has literally changed the way I listen to music and who I listen to.
I kept jumping back and forth from the computer to the iPad as I was doing some software testing so there was downtime during each build. I probably got confused.
I work with computers, including some moderate iOS programming to test that use of other systems I write. Since coming across this thread and reading through to see what's out there and seeing and hearing what these great people are doing I'm now using my iPad every day for practicing and getting a lot more accomplished. It's is the first time in probably 20 years I have gotten over the stress of working with computers all day every day to make use of them doing what I enjoy.
I REALLY don't know a heck of a lot about what is going on under the hood on the audio side of these devices but I will be learning.
Sounds like a good plan and much needed change. I hope the fun you'll now be having cools the anger down. I haven't had a band experience that bad, but change the characters around to programmers, marketers and managers and you would be amazed at the similarities.
Also, I've learned a lot and I getting sounds I really like not in small part to reading your posts and conversations, so thanks.
