I found a cool app for my iPod Touch;
iRealBook on the Apple App store. They do not include the melody lines for copyright evasion purposes. BUT you get hundreds of standards right on your device, transposable with two taps, editable cause they're never right.....very cool, check it out.
I am not associated, endorsee or anything else....

I've used mine quite a bit. Much faster finding tunes than rifling through even Pocket Changes much less a Real Book. The only drawback is sometimes other folks' amplifiers pick up that characteristic iphone interference. There's one pianist I play with occasionally that I can't use the phone with. His amp just screams whenever I pull the phone out. Another guitarist's amp makes noise but not quite as loud. My amp doesn't have this problem nor do the amps of a lot of the other guys I play with. It is a seriously cool toy.

I wish they made it for the Android phone. I love mine but feel severly inadequate when the I Phoners brag about their apps. Although I do like my Mr.T sounds app.

just got it i like the transpose feature.... and the landscape/portrait is a nice lagniappe... great for a few bux!
and im the most computer illiterate person on TB!!!.,.,,.... 'nuff said.

I have tried searching on the AppStore for iRealBook and Massimobio without any luck… am I missing something?

It feels odd quoting myself…

If anyone else in Australia reads this, could you try searching for the iRealBook app and let me know if you can find it? I have only searched from my phone (not from iTunes on the computer) for the moment but have not found the app.

I am wondering if the Australian incarnation of the App store differs at all from the US one. I know that applicable local apps show up higher in searches than foreign ones, so it may be different here.

Hopefully we can get this app down here!

iRealbook success story. This past weekend I played a wedding job and at one point a tipsy (and very cute) sister of the bride had a song she wanted to sing (I think her drinking buddies put her up to it). It was a tune that none of us knew and she didn't know all the lyrics to. The singer and I both have iPhones. We found the chart in iRealbook and the lyrics online. She had no choice. Despite her apprehension and intoxication she brought the house down. Always great when you can help out a pretty girl.
