Double Bass iPhone Real Book?!?

I've used mine quite a bit. Much faster finding tunes than rifling through even Pocket Changes much less a Real Book. The only drawback is sometimes other folks' amplifiers pick up that characteristic iphone interference. There's one pianist I play with occasionally that I can't use the phone with. His amp just screams whenever I pull the phone out. Another guitarist's amp makes noise but not quite as loud. My amp doesn't have this problem nor do the amps of a lot of the other guys I play with. It is a seriously cool toy.

Don't you just hate that noise?

Have you tried using Airplane Mode? If you go to the Settings menu on the iPhone home screen, the first option is Airplane Mode. It turns off all radio transmissions so you should get no nasty interference.

Try putting your phone on airplane mode.

I'm rehearsing with a new cover band. All our charts are done on iRealbook. It's a good tool. But with my nokia phone I can only use the charts as jpegs.

I don't have it myself, but my teacher does and it comes in handy fairly often. I imagine the transpose option would be great for gigs with vocalists.

My buddy NoStatic turned me on to this a while back. A bit to small in display to be really useful, but if you have a iPad, it's a different story...

I'm glad I don't own an iPhone. For lots of reasons. But with this app, so little people don't know the easiest tunes by heart anymore. This will only make it worse. Remember that jazz was, and still should be, a style of music and making music learned by ear, without sheet music.

This app really rocks on my new iPad. Much easier to read on a stand. Plus the play along feature is great fun.

You could put your iPhone in flight mode , if it doesn't crashes planes it probably will help with amps

Yes, and it's very nice. Unlike BiaB in one key aspect, though, as far as I can tell: no melody/soloist. Sounds like everyone in the virtual ensemble is just churning through changes.

(If I'm wrong on this and just missed a feature, please let me know!)

I would love to have a true BiaB alternative. Powerful program, but that interface gives me a headache.
