I would buy one of these simply because I can afford a touch or a phone. I used to think that having one of the bigger (80g+) iPod was a necessity so you could literally take your entire music library with you (assuming you haven't pirated 500 gigs worth of music), but lately I've been more into making playlists and basically having a "radio station" of all my favorites I think would be more cost and ease effective than bringing a bunch of music I rarely listen to.
