It looks like the iPod Touch refresh this year will bring a camera to the units. If you can wait a couple months, if nothing else you'll get twice the storage at the same cost.
Other probably upgrades include speed bumps on the innards for better gaming and general use.

iPod Touches are awesome: great, usable web browsing,
email, video, games.
Rumor has it that a new iPod Touch with a camera will be out in August.
And I think I read something about improved HD video capabilities, too.

Why would you need a camera on your mp3 when youll probably have one on your phone.I have a 32gig one and love it.Still hate itunes though but thats the only downside of it i can see. Glad i didnt go for the iphone though cause as im sure you know these things are really expensive so im glad i can leave the thing at home if im going out drinking or to a gig or anything else where it will probably get broken.
I would want the camera because I need one. As for the browser I have a laptop so the only time I would need the browser would be if I was jamming or on vacation. My guitard needs my laptop when we jam to run gearbox. So i'd use it then and vacation. But still it is really cool.
The iPod line is refreshed every year. Not so much of a rumor.

It's just that I personally found your post rather ambiguous. When you talk about "rumors," that could mean a lot of things. Example, I heard a rumor that Apple is releasing a new Tablet-style device next week. In reality, there are no credible sources to back that statement up. However, to say there are rumors that the iPod line will be updated in the next couple months is a near-certainty as Apple has done that every year (and a bit of quasi-credible information is starting to appear).

Because phone cameras generally suck.
The camera in the iPhone (which is probably what is going into the
iPod touch) has 3 megapixels and autofocus and takes incredible videos.
I hate cell phones and don't carry one but am considering an ipod touch for the apps (mostly the calendar, which i would use often), as an MP3 player (duh), and for data transfer to and from work. The wifi thing could be fun, too.
Can you use other phone systems on the iPhone? I'm thinking of getting one but would only want the ph cards... pay as you go type deal since I dont use the phone that much. But it would be hand in emergencies etc.
I did. Not only did I read it the first time, but I took the time to delete it in my quote. MacRumors is a great resource for things of that sort; I wholeheartedly recommend checking it out for anyone interested in any rumors about anything Apple.
If your original post was meant to say something akin to, "Hey, there are rumors flying around about the next iPod Touch refresh, check out MacRumors.com and check it out for yourself," then I am deeply sorry as I misread your post. I just wanted to clarify to the OP that it's not just a rumor a refresh is coming out very soon, but it's fairly certain this will occur. Apple values their secrecy very highly, but they refresh their iPods every year like clockwork - what's going to be included in the next update is hardly more than rumor and speculation, but there will be an update.
