iRig 1 vs HD2

Hi People,
My first post here. I've picked up my bass again after 30 years! Anyway I'm after a way to practice through headphones. I've been playing with Amplitube & a passive interface that's similar to the iRig 1. The issue I have is that I play along to Spotify but it's too loud for my bass & there doesn't seem any way to lower the volume of Spotify. If I increase the gain of my bass in Amplitube it just distorts. It looks like the iRig HD2 is an active device that has it's own headphone pre-amp which could probably drive my bass louder. Has anyone had any luck using the HD2 with Spotify? Also does it go louder?

That is a big problem with the IOS system, you can not easily mix the volume between apps. For IOS (ipad) you can get an interface like Focusrite iTrack or Presonus Audiobox iOne with a direct monitor. You can monitor your bass direct through the interface and blend it with Spotify or others on the ipad. Unfortunately, it will be a dry direct line, no Amplitude. But it worked fine for me for practice.

Thanks Bodeeni. Yes I had been pretty keen on using the processing from Amplitube but it may not be possible.
