Irish Bassists: Am I alone?

What's the best bass for Celtic-punk?:)

Sorry, but what is Celtic punk?

Over here we seem to have every shade of Celtic - Afro-Celtic, Celtic-Folk, Celtic-Pop, Celtic-Punk....I don't know, just another label. Add a fiddle player and a couple of "roots" instruments to the band and you're on your way I guess.

The "Best Bass" for Celtic Punk? I'm partial to P-style basses for it, just cuz they're idiot-proof and I'm an idiot. I like adding some "beer bottle slide" to the mix, but the Jameson's bottle proved to be a bit too much. I've been playing the Gibson Grabber II the past few months.

To the OP - seriously Mossie.... my daughter just beat cancer. And while there's still a few months left of chemo we plan on celebrating by going to Ireland for 10 days in August. If you're playing, or in town let me know.

*I'll add a link to my Celtic-Punk-whatever-it-is-band to my signature now. The Bog Hoppers.
