Greetings sirs!
I always wanted to have a SubT or dubT. May i ask comparing it to an octavre, which one tracks best. i always had an octavre on one of my boards but always considering a subT but its pretty hard to find. hopefully one of these days the gear gods will heard my plead hehe Thank You tb! Cheers!View attachment 5008075
I found the tracking on the Dubterranea to be superior to that of the Subterranea but that may just be down to how I play as I know experiences on here have differed. Both are great though.

Shocked to here this, you must be extremely precise. I tried two different Dubterraneas & I found both of them to glitch out on me whereas my Subterranea has always been solid & smooth.

The Subterranea just has a different feel, a different pace maybe, like a gentle swell into register as the note is struck whereas the Dubterranea seems poised to pounce on the note before my fingers were even there, I dunno how to explain it

Octaves are wierd, I've had 3 different brands onboard for various reasons for over a year, little subtle changes can really affect the way they perform. I really think it will always be that way unless you just cater to one, and how it likes the input best. Some take time to figure out though

I should also say that the tracking on both are perfectly fine for all my realistic use cases. I struggled to dial in the Subterranea to track anywhere near as well as the Dubterranea but I wouldn’t have an issue using either because, while I experienced a performance difference, in the grand scheme of things both are very well put together and comparing them is, in my case, a bit like arguing over which one scores 100% and which one 95%. As a note, my last A/B test used a fretless bass with flats. It may be that taking out some of the zinginess from rounds had an impact.

I haven't used a Dubterranea, but I've been playing a Subterranea for years now, and I've found that the tracking is excellent, but highly dependent on how your instrument is set up. The more harmonics you get from fret buzz, round wound strings, etc, the less reliable the tracking is going to be.
The Dub def tracks better if you boost your mids as well, I found that really helped. Playing cleanly and not letting 2 notes ring out at the same time help as well... and this is true on all tracking synth pedals, not just the Dub or FM.

Would be keen to side-by-side the Sub with a Dub some time, just to see if there really is as big a difference as has been suggested! I have no more issues with tracking from the Sub than I have had from any other octave pedal, which is to say, not a lot of issues at all. The only one I've played that really seemed to track at a level that was superior to most was the Aguilar, but I never actually liked the tone of that one too much. Far too clean and polite!

Greetings TB! I finally got a SubT and man it tracks so good! i wired this last night with the chain, Tuner-Cali76-SUBT-Oxide-Eau claire-Modelfet-Polytope-Arcing prisms-Nimbus-Oracle. And sounds killer. The SubT is amazing i reckon the DubT is amazing in its own way as as well and cant go wrong with both. Cheers!

I found the DubT and FMeron actually track low notes better than almost any other octaver! Where they seem to struggle more is on the higher notes.

I believe that makes the latest pre-orders: FMeron, XD, FrantaBit, Arcing Prisms, XD, and now FMeron. Anyone remember what was before the FMeron at the end of 2021 (shipped early 2022 if I recall?).

I opted not to count Mostly Elevators since it was a single unit auction and not a pre-order.
