If production picks up enough for actual availability, I'd love to pick up a Xerograph Deluxe again.

Unfortunately doing that style is just not scale-able because it takes an incredible amount of time and was starting to seriously cause me health problems as I get older and creakier. I've tried to find places that could do something similar for me but could never quite make it happen (if I did, it might cost nearly as much as the pedal sells for). In fact, the current panel style was step one in the process of making more pedals available.
BUT, spending less time drilling enclosures and placing surface mount parts on boards with tweezers may, eventually, mean I can spend some time on artsy stuff. I don't think it'll ever be the standard look for the pedals again, but it might be an occasional thing. Folks who've followed IE since the beginning will know that I've done many different visual styles over the years, and the engraved and airbrushed one in your picture was actually like the third or fourth major overhaul. And when I started doing that, some people complained and wanted the older way back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I'll keep trying to do interesting stuff, and different ones will appeal to different people.
I just really appreciate your efforts to make your pedals more available, whatever the visual style!
I second that. I do prefer availability over the thrill of the hunt.
I agree with this statement 100%.... however when I found that QF2 on eBay that was one of the happiest moments of my bass G.A.S. life.
I personally love the new look, and couldn’t really care either way. If they’re available then it’s a win for everyone
The only thing I would hold any reservations about, with any small company expanding production like this, is the potential for a hit to what otherwise appears rather immaculate QC. But, also knowing how Taylor has run his business up til now, the odds of him making a move like this, without having that all completely sorted out, would feel very unlikely.
So yes, all in on the potential of regularly in-stock pedals! Very exciting. I refuse to pay over the odds on the secondhand market, but finally getting my hands on a XD is the main pedal priority of 2024.

Really all that's changing right now is that I won't be drilling enclosures or doing the surface mount PCB assembly myself anymore. Pick-and-place robots are even more precise than Taylor-with-a-pair-of-tweezers-and-a-toaster-oven at assembling boards, so there should be no issue there. I'm still going to be doing the through-hole assembly, wiring, and testing each pedal for now.
The thrill of the hunt used to be more thrilling when there was a bargain or deal attached to it. It does make it a bit more sour of a purchase paying 150+% markup on a used pedal simply due to availability. Not to mention people buying new with the sole intention of flipping for a profit. The breadth and availability of the internet to all in the palm of their hand has made it far more difficult to get someone who doesn’t look at used listings and fall in line with inflated prices.
However, it’s a little different on a discontinued pedal and makes that pill easier to swallow. Plus there’s something to be said for “cool” factor due to uniqueness and exclusivity. Bottom line; I just want to make kickass music with kickass pedals.
I've known it for a while now! Just haven't been able to prioritize it in the last several months. But whereas I needed deep surgery on my rig (pedals and amp) in '23, the next year should be much more quiet on that front. So I plan to make it a reality! Call it a New Year's Resolution LOL

@never-enough That's fair; it is indeed RIGHT up my alley. Problem has been none of my paying gigs need that luscious synth filter sound; they require funky filter (if any filter at all), so finding the Funk Machine on the local used market for a killer price has worked out well til now. And then, my modest funds have (til recently) required deploying on things more essential to my working needs. I say this full well knowing it's not how things work 'round here in the *slightest*, but I'm very satisfied with the state of my board, and rig generally, so don't foresee any changes outside of this one. Before Dec '22, my board had remained unchanged for 10 years, so I've got precedent for being happy! Lol
Alas, it won't super straightforward getting a XD next time it goes on pre-order; it will (likely) necessitate a power supply upgrade, so I've gotta essentially save up for both. It'll take a little longer to save, but I'm confident next year will be my year!

Agreed.
But ... being international makes the pain even worse. Shipping and taxes add another 30+% to an already inflated price on the secondary market. If someone sells to you at all, that is. And at that pricepoint you basically can't resell the pedal if it doesn't fit your gusto. The loss will be huge.
So ... I really do prefer to buy stock.
