Me too! The bare aluminum is a nice contrast with my other painted IE pedals. It's cohesive with them, but still offers something unique. Plus it's the only FrantaBit I've seen like that. @TOGNA has an unpainted Nimbus SE. And, of course, all the Mostly Elevators and many Xerographs share this clear-coat finish.

But, at the same time, I like the reds in the painted FrantaBit because most examples are solid black on the lower half. The red-black finish feels truer (than the bare aluminum) to the FrantaBit aesthetic which has long been a bit different from the rest of the Iron Ether lineup: although there are examples of all-black or all-blue FrantaBits, most feature the curved horizontal line as a sharp color transition instead of the gradient colorway typical to Iron Ether pedals of in the era just before the new top-plate design.

I’ve always liked the look of my older Frantabit - doesn’t have that curved horizontal line you mention. I need to open it up and check the number.

I’m also in the market for a hand-painted FMeron in the website style if anyone would contemplate parting with one. I had snagged one on here but it disappointingly fell through. I’m in the UK but can arrange US shipping.
