Still hoping for a top jack Oxide but since I already have a side jack Oxide I can live without

Woohoo! Got me one of those Subterranea's

I can't wait to see the difference with the Dubterranea, if any. I have read many reports on here saying there is but I will see for myself. My assumption is there will be minimal difference in sound but maybe a difference in feel?

I am happy with my DubT so kind of a no-lose situation but I am also excited. I haven't been buying many (or any really) pedals lately because I am very happy with I have and money is not what it used to be. But Iron Ether's are always worth the money.

There's more than a minimal difference in sound, at least in the examples I played. It wasn't even close. The quality of sound in the Subterranea easily outmatches that of the Dubterranea. A bummer, since the latter as some additional features, but at the end of the day sound quality is what matters and the Subterranea wins hands down.

This has been discussed a bit here before but if I remember the gist of what Taylor said, the SubT is analog and creates the sound by modulating your input in various ways at audio rate, and so depending on what note you're playing the timbre of the "waveform" can sort of morph a bit, whereas with the DubT, it's just generating a waveform digitally so it will be a uniform timbre across the range.

Having tried both, I will say the SubT definitely tracks better but it does have that audio bleed from the uni-synth side.
I just got another DubT yesterday after selling mine a few years back and regretting it. I really do like the extra options on the DubT, and now that I have a better bass for tracking these sorts of pedals I expect I will have more fun with it this time around.

Oh man! Reading these replies is getting me more excited than ever! I got my tracking info this morning and can't wait!

I have been messing around with my synth chain (DubT->Oxide->XergraphDLX->Polytope->Nimbus) a lot this week and it already sounds so damn good. I wonder what the SubT will bring to the picture. I can hear a difference between the SubSonic and DubT but how much of that is Analog vs. Digital compared to them just being two different pedals?

I found myself not need a fuzz when using the Subterranea. The synth voice there is plenty dirty and works great into the Xerograph. (I went from the Deluxe to the regular and enjoy it just fine.)

Subsonic is an OC-2 clone and doesn't get dirty.

I do sometimes use a fuzz with the octave signal on the SubT. Its synth voices work very well, but sometimes, the octave+fuzz sound is the ticket, because you can really expand the tonal palette with different dirt pedals. I like having both options on the pedal.

I was stoked to score a 5-knob Xerograph Dlx for a great price, last week. Took a sweet 50 mile motorcycle ride on a glorious afternoon to fetch it from a nice guy, off FB Marketplace. I've had a v2 for years and was surprised when my nominal settings sounded very different on the v1. I've adapted and am thrilled to have another fantastic option at hand. IE pedals are the best!

The Subterranea circuit has been mostly the same since 2016 when all Iron Ether pedals underwent a shift to higher-quality components (read more here, here, and here). Here is what Taylor told me in 2023:
