Don’t laugh but in a box somewhere I have an “iRig duo”
Is that one any good? All I had was IOS.
I bought it 6+ years ago but only to fulfill an agreement, which was to record our instrumental and vocal parts. We all knew that basically it was so the next guy would know what to do LOL! They paid us extra and with the high turn over on that joint, pretty smart actually.
Anyway yeah I’ll dig it up, “restore purchases” and see if it still works. Might be kinda rough.
No worries, anything to have an idea of all the synthiness you are conjuring up! I have to record a bunch as well but won’t have the DubT for a while and someone bought my Nimbus SE ;)

I was able to sit down and A/B the DubT against my Broughctave with all three of my basses (Passive P w/ rounds, passive P w/ flats and an active Stingray with rounds).

Short story: The DubT won and the Broughctave is gone.

Long story:
All of my basses track just fine with the DubT BUT I had to change my technique. I couldn't beat down on my bass like I could with any analog octaver I've had in the past and I'm okay with that. The DubT is definitely sensitive to attack. I've owned 4-5 OC-2s, a couple MXR Vintage Bass Octaves, a Broughctave and some others. The DubT is my first digital octaver. The active Stingray tracked just fine with all knobs fully cranked. Again, I had to change my technique. It does track better when you pull the treble and bass down but I didn't need to.

Now, for the sound. It is definitely a digital octaver but it does cope some of the analog sound. It's not as punchy or aggressive as an analog octaver but it does a good job on its own. The Timbre offers a good variety of tonal options. It can be very clean or synthy/dirty. All of these tests were done without any waveforms. But... For your information, the waveforms are far superior on the DubT than the Broughctave square wave.

In the end, the combination of octaver and waveforms beat out the Broughctave. Additionally, the DubT into the XD is quite incredible! It's better than any other Fuzz, Distortion, OD, Synth I've tried into the XD. Granted, I haven't had the XD too long but you get the idea. The DubT and XD pairing is definitely worth trying out as they are a perfect match, in my opinion!

I'm looking forward to the opinions from some other people.

Wow man this IS great news and helpful intel for those waiting to receive one or thinking about getting one. Thank you!
Mine will be in by Monday night.
I got the FMeron to distract me and I’ll be referring to posts in this thread I assure you but I was able to spend an hour with it this morning before heading out to my day job and I was finding sounds that I liked and in the context of my intended use. I won’t be changing settings one the fly anytime soon tho LOL!

Thank God for the day job man we’re at the top tho, already worried about landing the next.

I was bored on a slow Friday afternoon at work (from home) so I threw together this a bit more formally. I decided that I probably will pull the Divaricator off for now, but 3 or 4 types of gain stages/distortion/fuzz/dirt, a handful of Envelope filters, a couple delays, my Nimbus, Arcing Prisms, etc. I would have my Polytope on the board but it's on my main board.

I've decided one thing that would make the XD better is to have a switch for the expression. Just an on/off to take it in and out of the circuit.

...just waiting to goof with the DubTerranea now... I would have put a synth or octave on here but...

An iRig DUO is my recording studio these days. Open garageband, plug that puppy in, acknowledge the auto-connect, plug in and set input 1 and/or 2, and off ya go. From there, you click share and bounce it to soundcloud and then post the link. Easy as Calculus 1.

Easy as Calculus

CEV your the best. I’ll need to set up a SCloud account. And I’m assuming one has to use a YouTube account to enmbed videos. I know I have one of those because when my kids forget to switch over I get bombed with a bunch of gamer stuff.
I put the bite on that sh**. if one of those 3 wanna play something there’s a mustang bass over there, why didn’t you bring your left handed guitar? or go practice your drum rudiments.
I hope I’m not doing the wrong thing tho, I came up in a large musical family but no one pushed me to play music, no one did anything.
And I’m not pushing them to play music but if they ask for and receive a $350 beginners electronic drum kit the rudiments are a must.

Be safe, Manny, that’s no joke up there!

Thx MG! For this but mostly for help understanding filters and such. It’s important stuff. I could easily see a player just writing off some of this gear, and only because they don’t understand the relationships/cause and effect aspects.
Yeah man I’m at the top of a long a** ladder there but only 25ft above a deck. They say past 30’ it doesn’t matter. I’ll be going back out to the perimeter steel in the foreground when the Ironworkers tell me they’re done Now that I learned I can press a side button a take a picture I’ll get a snap out there.
But thx man, the rule is to always know where you feet are. I’ve seen a man forget. We have fall gear of course but that ain’t pretty either. But you know what??...
GETTING IN A CAR AND DRIVING IS THE MOST DANGEROUS THING WE DO
And we do it everyday and don’t think much of it. That’s understandable but do me a favor brother and don’t forget where your feet are.

Oh man, all the talk here has me sooooo amped up to receive my Dubt! I was a bit slow on the draw so I am probably further back in the preorder. I have my Source Audio C4 handling envelope and filter duties, along with square / saw / sine oscillators, and am feeding it with my FMeron for FM synth, which will be joined by the Dubt for triangle and pulse waves, and bonus saw / square waves as required.

I am considering tuning one of my 5 string basses an octave up from A standard so I have a ton of usable range for synth stuff.

Also the finishes on these Dubterraneas are awesome!!!!

I would have my Polytope on the board but it's on my main board.

I’ll bet there is a number of cats out there that just want to slap us! HaHa! I’m waiting until I cook everything down but I definitely need something bigger than the largest board I currently have, a PT Classic Jr.

I’ll have my Divaricator on the “Rock” board along with a bunch of different dirt. I’ve gotten some serious tones that way. Can you please describe how you are using it and general thoughts?

I can’t believe I missed this! This is exactly what I am pondering
(see below). The only difference being I’m keeping a Subterranea in the mix if for no other reason than to have even more settings at my disposal live. Just now I scrolled up and noticed it. I could have saved some breath by reading instead of thinking so much.
I’ll stop typing now and if all my silliness is giving you a headache I apologize, take 2 “Bidaricators” and call me the morning LOL!

The only pedal that I’m waiting to buy is a Shift Line preamp to go at the end of the “Main/Synth” board and I’ll be working out what pedals belong there and the pedal order. I’ve subdivided that board mentality and the largest section is the “Octave/Oscillator” part with a Dubterranea, a Subterranea, a C4. and considering the FMeron as well. I’ll keep the C4 last in line
because of the filters, distortions etc can be applied
Those kind of pedals don’t generally stack but perhaps a +1 Synth voice from the Dubterranea or FMeron into?...
