The more I played with the DubTerrograph the easier it became to hit the specific button I wanted to on the pedal. I was a bit unnecessarily rough on the DubT with my initial impressions. I'm wondering what Matt's experience is like having the buttons on the top row of a board. On the bottom row when I can sort of sneak in on the buttons from the button is pretty easy to target a single button.

I had a board tear down experience last night and didn’t get much further with the DubT than do a quick run through. I did realize that I have a learning curve to deal with... I hope to do a deep dive tonight.

Had a day off, so I spent significant time with the pedal today and came up with these settings.

Saturday night I have my first jam with other people in about a year and it's on my board for that jam handling octave, env filter, and synth duties. I'm using a Dunlop DVP3 expression pedal on the Xerograph side and it sounds awesome.

I went into it with the mentality of how I'd want to use it Saturday which includes solid octave sound and env filter and then a killer sweepable synth lead. You can really get a variety of synthy tones. I will be playing in a trio w a synth player so I don't want to occupy tooucj of his space so.this is more centered around bass and bassy synths as opposed to leads.

@cosmicevan any issues when using the footswitch to turn on the synths while running through the xero-side?

When running my Dubterannea into my 3-Leaf Chromatron if I cycle the synths on or off I get a LOUD pop...

Through your amp? The foot switch is loud but it didn't sound like the click was being amplified...I will verify. After I get the kids to bed gonna play some more. It sounds so great

I’ll post photos tonight, but my settings are very similar on the Xero side, and somewhat different on the DubT side. I used it last weekend and was very happy with how it sounded... definitely a grand slam pedal.

Edit: what’s the long-azz pedal on your board?
Edit 2: maybe you could do a pedal board run through for us... :-)

That board was whipped together for a jam with some friends. My main board is in shambles and I have been slowly working on redoing the entire thing, now centered around Morningstar MC8 and ML5 instead of the Boss ES-8 that I need to get out of my life. This board was mostly some newish things that I have been exploring and wanted to try with other peopl and some other fun sounds for the jam.

chain starts in top right w Lurch Audio’s Sorghum which is a pretty versatile fuzz. Has 3 gain stages giving me the ability to dial in burpy or sputtery or super fuzzed out. It needs to be first in the chain to sound good though. I like it for sputtery fuzz.

Next is Pladask Elektrisk’s FEBER which is a ring mod/modulation pedal that I adore. It rivals the MF-102 in ring mod quality.

then IE Dubterrograph...

then the big guy - single knob fuzz called Wide from Pine Box Customs. I had been curious about the builder and he did a small run of a few flavors of one knob fuzzes. This one was the grittiest. There are a bunch of controls via internal trim pits to set it how you like. I had it set pretty muff-ish w presence.

then into Mask Audio Electronics’ Maybe? which is a combo of Yes & No which are broken fuzz sounding destroy your tone monsters.

then back to the top right corner for Pladask Elektrisk’s FALMA which is a lofi modulation pedal that I have been really into lately for solo stuff, especially guitar.

ditto looper and out.


Definitely making some changes, it was fun to play with for a few weeks but I just got a Cthulhu fuzz that I am loving that I want to get on there and maybe get some more glitchy things on there as well? The focus has been mostly on getting my main board back in shape...this was just so that I had something to play through on the meantime.

Here's where I ended up...

xero side I'm very happy with as is, no change

Dub side - yep @Matt Dean I've come over to the right side of the Timbre knob now. I use octave a lot on it's own and prefer a cleaner Octave, but now I'm more in the 1 o'clock region which definitely gives it more bite and should do better in a mix. Cuts through nicely in a loop jam. I've also followed your lead on the Octosynth pushing more towards saw vs triangle. Mixed with the square on the unisynth side it gives a really nice synth vibe.

I also swapped out the Wide for a Cthulu on that board. Board needs a delay.
