Iron Ether FrantaBit

behndy,

In your clip, were you being Degraded or Obliterated ?

Taylor did give me a run down of each mode, but I can't remember which was which, in terms of tru digital bitty mayhem, or faux analog bit reduction.

just reposting the link so it's at the top of the page until BryBry gets his all smappled together.

WuD - it's in Obliterate. so far the Degrade is a nice and more subtle setting. i LOVE the Obliterate. which..... makes sense.......

i.... might add my own scenes to stuff in my head.

everything i've ever watched, i remember at least one scene of "SEPTAPUUUUSSSSS.... He has seven testicles-" "TENTICLES" "-tennnnnticllllllesssssssss...." or McGirk getting ready for the RenFaire, groaning and yakking outside his Trans-Am.

Back from my trip and my FrantaBit was waiting for me. I'll have to post clips and pics. Taylor did mine in a dark red which I really dig.

The Obliterate mode is definitely cool. It does everything I liked from the Catalinbread Heliotrope in terms of ring moddy type sounds and the analog "pseudo" bitcrushing is a lot like the BugCrusher but more tweakable.

That said, the "Degrade" side with the true digital sample rate reduction and bit crushing is where it's at for me. Keeping the sample rate maxed and doing bit crushing gives an incredible digital distortion. Doing the opposite gets you into video game land. Combining the two gives an ENORMOUS range of usable sounds.

And that's before even getting into the expression control. Don't overlook how incredibly cool that is. It lets me cop truly electronica sounding textures by fading the bitcrushing in and out of my tone.

I am absolutely blown away by this pedal.
