Iron Ether FrantaBit

I think that's a feature/design question (on which I am allowed to weigh in) rather than an opinion question (on which I obviously cannot). Mods, please let me know if I misjudged and am stepping on any toes.

When using the bit crushing, especially 1-bit mode, the FB does get somewhat gated, just by the nature of true bit crushing. But the sample rate reduction in both degrade and obliterate modes is not gated by its nature. I can't and wouldn't comment on another company's pedal, but Mr. Pickles is exactly right that the FB isn't subject to the carrier bleed/whine issues inherent in many analog pedals with an oscillator.

I was under the impression that USPS Priority mail took 2-3 days, not A WEEK.

Usually.:bawl:

In other news, my board is done. Here's some IE love.

Hoping to get a track on the new noise compilation featuring these two silver beauties.

If this is what you peeps seems to suggest it is, I want two ov 'em

:ninja:

I think Jared, M Sterling or Behndy would have to create a thread for it... but I think a few of the serious tweekers in here would be interested. :D

Jared - to answer your question the third pedal is another prototype... I have to keep that one out-of-picture until I get the clear. It actually uses 1/8" for expression control (hence the adapter)

Got a email from Taylor yesterday saying my FRANTABIT is in the mail!
:bassist::cool::hyper:!!!!!!!

Yeah, just what you need, more nastiness to further nastify an already nasty-@$$ board!!!

Seriously, though, the way the bit depth responds to your playing dynamics makes for some very fun sounds. Try turning it to about 9:00 and playing a phrase where the first half you play really lightly and then pluck a little harder on the second half. The lighter plucked notes are more crushed and distorted than the harder ones! This is the opposite of what you would think would happen, but it sounds awesome!

Hahaha Thanks bro! My board is actually getting a bit of a makeover.:ninja: I basically have an Iron Ether board now! :p
I can't wait to try that out! Sounds wicked cool to me. Any tips and settings are always MORE than welcome...Cheers!:cool:
