Double Bass Is a Geneva EUB a re-badged Stagg?

I bought a Geneva EUB from Gollihur a year ago. Recently stumbled upon a wonderfully re-furbed Eminence, so am selling the Geneva. When I post it locally, I'd like to say it's a re-badged Stagg, because it certainly seems to be. Does anybody know the relation between those two outfits?

Yes and no. It's a very similar instrument, with very similar quality, electronics, pickup, body rests, and overall design ethos - but its dimensions are different (and so are some other details, like the endpin material, tuning machines, and so on). So calling it a "rebadged" Stagg wouldn't really be accurate; it's more like a "knockoff" or, perhaps more gently said, a"sister instrument." ;-)

The factory which produces the instrument for Stagg (mainly) also produces for other companies which can choose from different parts (and maybe also specify variations to be made for them).
Some necks have a pegbox with DB tuners and a scroll others a headstock (that can break with a top side impact).
The neck can be one part with the fingerboard, coated with a black (epoxy?) finish or two parts with a rosewood fingerboard glued together.
The printed name can be specified etc.

Anyway,I see these instruments as short living ones, except if you can get the DB tuners with a separate fingerboard neck.
It is possible to play them, but using a better constructed instrument is a lot more fun. OK for a (pizz) DB player who wants to have a cheaper travel instrument or as an entry level EUB for a few years.
For BG players no EUB is a good start for entering the DB world, the Stagg-type even less than others. But I think BG uprights are even worse than a Stagg.
