Is Adventure Time appropriate for kids?

If you've ever taken hallucinogens you're going to love the show. If you haven't ever taken hallucinogens you're not going to be as entertained about certain aspects of the show as those who have taken hallucinogens, but you're still going to love the show just the same. I think it's in the first episode that Jake and Finn are battling giant sugar cubes. I giggled like a doe-eyed Deadhead and have been hooked ever since. My nine year old son loves the show too.

I like Regular Show more, for the lulz, but Adventure Time is cool because the heroes and villains aren't so clearly defined like most hero oriented cartoons.

They live in a post apocalyptic world with Finn being the only human remaining after some huge nuclear war. The ice king is the major "villain" in the series, but he is revealed to have been a genius who went insane and had everything he loved slowly stripped from him and desert him before becoming the monster he currently is.

It's a smart show wrapped in psychedelic imagery.
