Is Adventure Time appropriate for kids?

I can't decide. There's no bad words, or gruesome violence, but it is kinda dark and creepy. I can understand if parents that don't want their kids to watch it, but I can't point to a reason why.


At any rate I think it's funny as heck.

Never saw it but if you take the time to sit down and talk to kids I think you'll find they are kinda dark and creepy so it's probably ok.

When i was younger there was a few bad shows that were awesome. Johnny bravo. Womanizer.
Ed edd n eddy. Greed and lots of inuendo
Cow and chicken. Theres a devil that bounces around on his exposed butt cheeks.

Yup....at a certain age point. Say, 7 and up. Some of the situations / language run the cusp of being slightly adult if you read into it like an adult, but in general it's totally pretty benign, whacky fun.

I was watching Invader Zim at a young age. It was a pretty dark and creepy show, but I turned out alright lol.

My daughter (8 yo) loves it. That and Phineas and Ferb.

I tend to watch with her...not because I'm on the lookout for inappropriate content with a trigger-finger on the remote, but because I love 'em too.

Ren & Stimpy was great, I still love that they had Frank Zappa doing the voice of The Pope in on of the Powedered Toast Man episodes.

I just don't get it. Part of me wants to, but dernit the stories (OK, ADVENTURES) just RAMBLE. Then again I guess if kids actually enjoy it.
