Is Adventure Time appropriate for kids?

I can't decide. There's no bad words, or gruesome violence, but it is kinda dark and creepy. I can understand if parents that don't want their kids to watch it, but I can't point to a reason why.


At any rate I think it's funny as heck.
 
My daughter (8 yo) loves it. That and Phineas and Ferb.

I tend to watch with her...not because I'm on the lookout for inappropriate content with a trigger-finger on the remote, but because I love 'em too.

"I can't stop now, I got a platypus controlling me...". Awesome.

Ren & Stimpy was great, I still love that they had Frank Zappa doing the voice of The Pope in on of the Powedered Toast Man episodes.

I think that as we get older we find a lot of underlying adult humour in most childrens shows.

I just don't get it. Part of me wants to, but dernit the stories (OK, ADVENTURES) just RAMBLE. Then again I guess if kids actually enjoy it.
