Myself , the wife and our two kids are desperately trying to out-do each other on this.
I will say the usage of American English, rather than proper English, as spoken on the civilised side of the Atlantic, has caught us out a couple of times.

I just heard about this last week. Tried it for the first time now. I guessed the word in 4 tries. Beginners luck?? OK now I can say I tried it. I'm not a big word puzzle fan. I'm too sydlexic.

Yeah, NYT is running a promo right now for $1.50/wk for unlimited online access. Considering the money I've spent on bass memberships I don't use, it's hard to say it's too expensive... lol.

Today's was a bit tough. I had a 5 letter whiff on the first try, and I took the full 6 to get it.

I thought I had it in 3 but I had one letter wrong. So close!

Most days I get it in 4. Very occasionally I'll hit 3. I'm looking forward to a lucky 1 or 2 day but it hasn't happened yet. As long as I'm solving it I'm happy. Such a fun little break in the day.

New York (CNN Business) — The New York Times has acquired Wordle, the explosively popular game that gives players six chances to guess a five-letter word daily.

The Times, which announced the purchase of the game on Monday, is adding the puzzle to their portfolio of word games such as The Crossword, The Mini and Spelling Bee. As of December 2021, the New York Times (NYT) has over one million Games subscriptions.
