Is bass your best instrument?

For sure! I'm a good bassist, but I own a synth (which I use for synth bass). I can't play piano to save my life though. Lol

Ive messed around on guitar here and there but never made it past beginner status...I suck.

I play guitar as well; it's what I started on. But I may be better at bass now. I'm a reasonably good bassist, and haven't played guitar in a band for a long time.

Im actually better on the ukulele than bass. I've actually spent more money on my ukulele than any other bass other than my current one.

By this, I mean do you feel that you are best on bass over any other instrument(s) you might play? I haven't been playing all that long, but I played guitar for nearly two decades, and still enjoy playing. I'm a pretty good guitarist, and as such, I'm better at guitar at this juncture. You?

I played brass (trumpet, euphonium, tuba) from grade school through college. I still have a euphonium, however I hardly ever play. I picked up bass in ~2010 and have been playing and learning ever since!! Since I started playing mostly bass lines (not the melody) with brass, the electric bass was a natural progression for me!

Yes, it's my best instrument, distantly followed by piano and saxophone (alto/tenor/baritone).

I think tuba is probably my best instrument, followed closely by electric bass. I can play about a dozen instruments well enough to get paid, but those are my main two. I'd love to get a baritone sax - I find it much easier to play than alto or tenor. I'd also really like to try a bass sax sometime, but that's a little bit out of my price range.

I can play a few different instruments. I started with the recorder when I was about 7, but I think that's the same for everyone!

I picked up the alto sax at about age 10, played it for a good three or four years before giving it up because of a love of guitars. Got my first guitar, a terrible classical guitar for my 12th birthday. Still got it because of its sentimental value, put some new strings on it last week just because I felt like playing a bit of classical guitar. I've only recently started to learn fingerstyle guitar, a few months maybe - I used to play with my thumb and forefinger before. I then got my very first bass at the age of 13. I definitely play more bass, and it's my best instrument, but I don't mind playing guitar. Picked up a nice acoustic, a bargain early 80s Squier Strat, and a few more basses since then. I've tried and failed to teach myself piano in the past, I just can't get both my hands to work at the same time, which is weird because I've played guitar for 4 years! I'm also terrible at drums, I can't coordianate my hands and feet.

Having started on bass when I was 16 and after solely being only a bassist for the next 15 years it pretty much screwed me up for trying to learn blues harp (which I love played through an early '50s Fender amp)

Right now it is.

Played violin when I was really young, also played trumpet and drums (marching band) before high school. Always thought I was a drummer but was never allowed to have a drum kit at home.

I have owned a bass for the last 7 years and finally really taking lessons in the last year.

I am a rhythmic person-hear bass and drums when I listen or think about music.

I wish I started much earlier. I am 43 now. I guess it is never too late!
