I think this is more "authentic blues" than anything I have heard from Bonamassa, Trout, KWS, Clarke, Jr.........

That tune has some nice raw energy with a nice blues edge to it, but I doubt a majority of blues fans would agree with your assessment that it's more authentic than the folks you mention.I think this is more "authentic blues" than anything I have heard from Bonamassa, Trout, KWS, Clarke, Jr.........

The problem according to you...you think you are right and the majority of fans are wacked. You know what - I agree with your statement. You have identified the problem.![]()

Artists and self proclaimed purists, like yourself, do not define a genre all by themselves...fans are a pretty important piece of that puzzle.
The Raconteurs have not promoted themselves as a blues band and throwing one or two bluesy numbers into their repertoire is not going to establish them as an authentic blues act or do anything to keep the blues torch buring.
I love it...you make a snarky, baiting comment and then come out swinging when you are called out.Of course it's the problem according to me, it's an opinion, but I never said the majority of fans are whacked....where did I say that?.
Sure it is..blues is a style of music that's been played by many and there are hundreds of great musicians playing it today, as we type! The blues is not a sacred rite that is forbidden in modern times.Blues is the root of so many modern genres and bands.
As said before, the main thing happened half a century ago and people are set in their minds about what's blues and what's not. So if you take blues and try to bring it to 2014, it'll not be called blues anymore.
I love it...you make a snarky, baiting comment and then come out swinging when you are called out.
You said I "identified the problem" by stating that the majority of blues fans would not agree with your opinion. This is you asserting that your opinion is more valuable (or at least less problematic) than theirs.
It is simply narrow minded to proclaim that Joe Bonamassa or Gary Clarke Jr or any of the other guys on your hate list are somehow less important to the blues just because you don't feel them.
Okay cowboy...Dude, really?
Nobody is swinging here. Well, at least I'm not.
Okay cowboy...
