Is it really worth it, the Fridge?

A 8x10" speaker is a 8x10" speaker..
Everything else is something else..
Different strokes for different folks!
And so on and so on and scooby dooby dooby

I aint playing without my "wrecking-wall" ever again.. if you like it.. why should you?
Sure.. if your a session/solo act.. get portability.. but if your in it for the sound.. get what floats your boat!

I would say buy it, try it and if you don't like it you'll at least break even. I've got one and use an SVT4PRO to push it, love the sound I get, the power...etc. Just a pain in the ass to haul around especially when it comes to stairs. You'll quickly realize that your band mates will magically disappear when it comes time to help you.

Ampeg 810 is the most overrated cab ever. If you think it's worth the struggle of moving around and what not (I'm 19, had it when I was 16... still not worth it at all...) you just haven't played better cabinets. My stack sounds worlds better than the 810... to my ears and may others who heard my rigs.

If you were just doing straight ahead rock, then I guess I could understand... but for those of us who play music that needs a much wider and cleaner frequency response... we'll pass on the fridge.

You guys are quite decisive. and i like that! :)
but anyways,

I am younger and have a good back. I have a house, so stairs will rarely, if ever, come into play.

The 810 will be used for gigs, but i may decide just to use it and practice or something. I dont know. and the price is really hard to get by, so im buying it.

I also may buy another, cheaper 810 (Peavey, Kustom, maybe behringer, something like that) to put beside it. I have two ampeg grills so who would know the (visual) difference besides you guys! Good idea?

Good for you. Enjoy that monster:bassist:

Don't know if anybody else asked this or not, I don't feel like looking right now, but what style of music do you play? Maybe the 810 wont work for what you're trying to do. However, if it doesn't you could still possibly turn a bit of profit off of it.
