Listen, I feel you. All of my guitars are in "player's condition", but I didn't spend full price on em either. But I am pretty cheap as well.

You can still see the outline of the "S" in Squier on the headstock.

Not sure... it kinda looks like the F from a Highway One Fender Jazz... but hard to tell either way. For $200 I'd be tempted to try it and see. For the asking price... I'd walk.

Definitely a Squier, and I'm pretty sure it's an Affinity. If you look at the headstock, notice how the "relic" job was particularly thorough over two spots - the logo and the curve at the tip. That's where Squier prints the "Affinity" tag. So this was a US$179 bass originally, poorly butchered for a "relic" job, but does have the BAII bridge. I'd give him $100 for it if it plays OK.

It's been abused and battered but not a Squier. Look at the headstock. Look at the truss rod adjustment... or lack of it. It really fits with a Highway One. I can almost see the F but not 100% sure, however everything fits...

Either it's a Squier bass that's been abused to look like a Fender or
it's a musician that's been abused and took it out on his Fender.
Seriously though,
The photos are too far away and grainy to come to any sort identity conclusion.
Irrespective of its true heritage, it's been sanded and marred beyond recognition.
Whether it's an actual American made Fender or a Squier Affinity, the value has been lowered with this relic'ing.
I would offer $100, I could use the Badass bridge and a few other parts for a project I'm doing.

Seriously though, I have no issue one way or the other regarding relicing instruments. In this case though, not a great job. It looks like an unfinished art project that someone gave up on.

It might be a fun project, if someone could get it for a fair price and be willing to put in some work. I figure some sandpaper/sanding sponges, some mineral spirits, a coat of pre-stain treatment, a can of one's favorite Minwax PolyShade color and a couple coats of glossy polyurethane would do the job, or at the very least, make it look better than it does now.

Well the add is gone now, so I don't know if it sold, or the poster took it down...hmmm!!
