Is it worth updating my wireless rig?

I currently have a digital reference/audio technica r2110 set up that I bought about a dozen years ago. I haven't been using it much in the last 6-8 years playing smaller stages but am considering going back to a wireless set-up. I have no major qualms with the digital reference other than the gain settings were a bit of a pain to balance and it seemed to brighten my tone a little. I was just wondering if it was even worth looking into updating it... if there have been any major improvements in the technology in the last 10 yrs. I'd probably want to stay around $300 unless there is some convincing reason to go bigger.

Any feedback before I start spending the time digging through info/specs etc.?

true digital wireless gives you full-bandwidth uncompressed sound, like a CD (no "companding"). something like a shure GLX-D16 or a line 6 G75 will be leaps and bounds better-sounding in that $400 or less range.

My Line 6 G50 requires no gain adjustment with pedals, tone or anything for that matter. Plug in and start playing with the sound of your bass.

Yes, it is worth the upgrade.

Yea I'd say there's been considerable improvement in wireless in the last 10 years. I have used a lot of Line 6 units (XDS X2, G90, G30) and am now using a G70. They have all been outstanding (soundwise) units. The only issues I have had are with the construction of some of the plastic transmitters, none ever failed but I was always a little worried about them. The G90 and 70 transmitters are both metal so no issues there. Most important though is the sounds quality,

I used a G90 for close to 7 yrs, then upgraded to the Senn D1.
With the other L6 users in the band, we always had to discuss channel separation.. so we didn't step on each other.
The D1 is auto-sensing and automagically avoids 2.4Ghz channels that are occupied.
Power up and go.. nothing else to do. Stellar audio BTW.. so yeah.. UPGRADE!

If you stay with AudioTechnica, you can keep the overpriced cable for the bass! I use the System10 and it never failed. Runs for 7 hours and seeks the best channel automatically.
