Is search of a Smith

Big news!,
Notejung has offered to put me in touch with the new owner! Provided I pay him first. Because he was honest and forthright in our original sale and his history here on talkbass, I have sent him the $50.00 via PayPal. I'll let everyone know when I make contact. Even if the new owner does not wish to sell, if I can get a picture and establish location, perhaps in the not so distant future we can work out a trade.

I have found it!, and have become Facebook friends with the current owner.
I've made some grand offers ( Smith, Alembic Jazz Plus 3:1) but nothing that has been worth it for him to move on. He has assured me if he ever wants to sell I'm first in line. In the meantime I 'm getting along with a 87 Smith. I'm starting to develop diabetic neuropathy, so my playing days are limited. I figure I'll make one more big run at it before the end of the year and if it doesn't happen at least I know it's in good hands.

New developments;
I have a friend in the owner of my old Smith, sadly it seems he likes it as much as I do. I also had a new friend reach out to me via Facebook, who has one of these wonderful old Smiths. He also it seems rather likes his Old Smith too.
So, I have found someone who worked at the Smith shop back in this era and we are in process of building a tribute bass to the one that got away.

I owned this bass as well! Bought it back in 2007 from Brian at Low End Nashville. Pretty sure I traded it back to him the following year. I've missed it ever since. Please let me know how the tribute build goes, I might be interested in one as well! That bass was so special!

Ok, here is the deal. I once had a Ken Smith. I bought it after I sold everything to pay my daughter Doctor bills, it was a very special bass. I got it back and a few years later when I was buying the assets of the old TBC company (pipe dream that failed) like a fool I sold it again.
I have searched for years trying to get it back. Last I knew it was over in Taiwan.

After decades of struggling, I'm finally in a position where I can pay my bills and not have to sell off a bass every time something moves sideways.

So can you help me TB to find my old Smith, or a similar PJ Smith?

I'd take a trip to Utah. Can't take a step without tripping over a Smith.
