View attachment 2840591 You simply can never tell, when you deal with people. Shortly after I bought this '01 COY Rick, I decided to have the push/pull treble tone switch and the capacitor (which '2001's don't have) installed by the local dealer (Sam Ash). When I walked up to the front counter to get a check in slip, everybody there freaked out at the silver "vintage" Rick case (which all lefty Ricks ship with). Within 3 minutes of opening the case, to get the serial number and description of the bass, just about everyone in the store was crowded around it, like I had brought in The Holy Grail, or my pet Velociraptor... It took me 15 minutes to get it through the store, back to the service area - and, even then, I had to open the case twice more to get there. When the luthier (yes, they had one - a good one - at the time), even
he just stood there with his mouth hanging open; so long, that I was afraid he was going to drool on it. His first words were a whispered, reverential "Ho-lee S**t... Desert Gold...
and, OMG.. it's a
lefty?!?" After that, I don't take it out of the house much...
