I would think side by side they are probably different, as one is Fender's version and the other is Gibson/Epiphones version of Candy Apple Red.
I just bought the exact bass your looking at yesterday and the colour is very nice. If you look close it has a bit of a metal flake finish, whereas I think the Gibson may have a flat finish. But I don't know as I have never compared them side by side.
