is the zoom B2.1u worth it?

EQ the fuzz sounds to bring some life to them. Also, I use a separate pedal (Boss believe it or not) to activate the tuner on my B2 since pushing down both pedals at the same time can be a pain on stage. The tuner is quick and works real well.

I also really dig the Bassman tone (although I made my own patch to clean it up a bit).

do you think i should to wait and buy a B2.1u or just buy the used digitech B200 that i could get really cheap?
i really liked the RP250 for guitar, better than the G1 for guitar but the thing is this is bass not guitar

BTW i say wait beacause no store in the whole city has the B2.1u, in fact i have never seen one and i visit diferent stores every weekend + i live in peru so order from the internet could end up being too expensive

For me it was certainly worth it, the di out is quiet and has plenty of output and it plays well with all my basses and amps. Most of my tones are based on the Bassman sound, I really like the tweakability and the pitch shifter ovtave up and 2 octave up actually pleasingly in tune and useable. But I must be the only one that luvs the synth sounds.

The synth sounds are great. It's the tracking that isn't.

Dang it! I was going to bring my B2 home tonight to try some of those patches. But I left it at the gig.

I just spent some time using mine direct through a power amp through an Omni10. I'd say with 10 minutes of tweaking I could reproduce a tone that is 90% accurate to my blended GK/Sansamp RPM/Barber LTD rig. The only real weakness is inability to apply seperate EQ on effected/dry blended signal but I've got lots of ways around that. I also forgot how well the B2 handles OD pedals in front (I use a buffered splitter between pedals and B2 input though)

Maybe this will get placed in a different location on my rig and find more use than tuner/mute switch in live use. As a practice tool it's hard to beat, especially if you can find a used one. I hope I don't talk myself into the B9!

yep...just does a few patterns...great for working out riffs, developing speed, showing the band ideas...that sorta thing...
not real useful for much else.

Best sounding multifx pedal I've ever tried in such a small footprint. It of course has the normal "issues" that are common among all small multi pedals. Switching among patches isn't the easiest thing in the world, the effects are nice but not as good as the real thing, etc etc. But it also fixes issues that many other pedals have annoyed me before.

I highly recommend getting a non latching switch to plug in to avoid the foot pretzel two button press limbo action to get to the tuner.

Oh, and enjoy C3. The "Jaco slang" sound on it is actually very well done.

This is the first multi I ever owned where I could actually use some of the presets. Of course, the only other ones I ever owned were made by Boss (ME series), and though Boss makes nice stuff, a lot of the effects are useless, especially flange and phase. But the Zoom actually has good sounding flange and phase, and about the only effect it does that I have absolutely no use for are its synth effects. They sound great but they track horribly. The killer envelope filter makes up for it, though.

The models are really pretty good. The eq doesn't go super low, but that is probably a good thing since it cleans up the mud.

We must be different kinds of players because mine tracks just fine for the things I do which is both long sustained synth bass lines, driving groove lines, sequence like arpeggios and also lead lines. I do have to change my attack a bit to get some sounds especially long sustained notes. Try rolling down your tone control or cut some highs on an active bass but imo works much better on a passive bass.

Jimmy, I assume you've tried using the compressor to help out the synth's tracking? I kind of felt the tracking rendered the synth modes pretty useless as well. I did like the filter until I got my Q-tron.

For those songs I'd use the fastest attack time and a pick but I don't think the compressor would help it is not fast enough.
