Is there a color database for Fenders anywhere?

Lake Placid Blue was never an option. Has to be "Ice Blue" based on the price list. They only the offered the color for a few years during the 80s and then offered an "Ice Blue Metallic" about 20 years later as totally different color, which made things confusing.

So I wanted to verify what this color and I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. There was one for sale on TB 7 years ago (may be the one you have)SOLD - FS: 1987 Fender Power Jazz Bass Special, A/P but it doesn't seem like the seller knew what the actual color code was. However the seller did post the serial number which dates to 1989/90.

I found the official Fender price lists, to see if I could find the color code, the only blue on there is Ice Blue, I don't think that's correct.

Will continue to try and figure it out.

BONUS: I came across this comically bad demo of the bass



EDIT: The color has to be "Ice Blue" and Fender just changed what Ice Blue was about 20 years later. If you look Fender Stratocaster HM, you can find mentions of it being called "Ice Blue"

There used to be a lot of Fender color charts for many years back at Provide.net. I'll have a look and see if I can find them.

EDIT: The Provide.net site doesn't seem to be up any longer. I found some on Pinterest:



Try doing a Google search for "fender color chart images".

You won't get a result that's well organized, but you'll find a lot of color charts from bygone years. Just as a reminder, most of them from the "vintage" years are automobile colors, because that's what Fender used.

There was a recent fender jazz bass think it was an anniversary edition that was in some kind of cross between ivory, green and silver/grey but I cannot recall what the colour was called = it was really different, subtle and hard to tell what the primary colour really was...it was lovely. Did I imagine it?
