Weight aside, most also aren't particularly balanced. That being said, the Rob Allen Mouse 30 is a feather, fun as heck to play, does great in dropped d even as a short scale, and fits in a guitar bag/case.

My Hofner Ignition "Ed Sullivan Edition" weighed 4 pounds, seven ounces (2.009 kg!)
And it only cost a couple of hundred bucks
Was a very nice bass, I only sold it because it was a lefty and I decided not to put the time in to learn to play left-handed
(T'was an extremely humbling experience for a couple of days...)
