Is this a good live setup? Would this make a soundman happy?

I need some help concerning my live rig. I'm going on tour this summer and I'm if this ser up make sense:

Tuner -> Ebs Multicomp -> Darkglass Vintage Deluxe (DI output to mixer and Parallel Output from Darkglass VD to Radial passive Stagebug DI) -> Amp

This way the soundman gets 2 seperate DI signals. 1 Clean straight bass to Radial and 1 raunchy overdrive from the Darkglass. Do I need to eq them seperately? Cut bass from the darkglass and cut treble from the radial? Or will the soundman be fine this? I'm picturing he'll be happy to have this mix to blend.

Am I way off here?

Appreciate any input☝

Aren't you giving the soundman THREE signals?
  • 1 Clean straight bass to Radial,
  • 1 raunchy overdrive from the Darkglass,
  • 1 DI output to mixer
They really only need ONE for bass - given that thru a PA its omnidirectional anyway.. :)

It's still only two though?

1 Clean DI from the Radial
1 Overdriven DI from the Darkglass

My amp is only for self monitoring

Both signals straight to the mixer. Am I missing something here? I'm really a noob at this.
No, I RE-READ your OP [SLOWLY] and it's MY misinterpretation. :(
Yes, you should probably EQ each separately.. the soundguy in me says leave both EQ's FLAT unless you have a specific tone you need.

As a front of house engineer I rarely run two signals from the bass. Even when I do, it often ends up that only one gets used for various reasons.
But it's nice to have the option though?

From your perspective, yes.. but that means the soundguy has to be aware of when you use each DI, as they'll have to balance levels from EACh, going to the PA.
Do you intend to have BOTH DI's active at the same time?
If so, then using ONLY ONE should be fine. Two is kinda pointless from FOH's perspective, unless one is purely hooked up as a backup?
If not, how do you plan to tap-dance between the two and (assuming you are using the "house" guy) how is FOH going to know when you do that, and be ready ???
I believe the Darkglass VD has perfectly good "clean" tone and can be used as a single DI source - assuming you need the DRIVE at some point - so the FOH guy can worry about ONE bass input, and not have to be a fader jockey when you switch back and forth.
Make sense ?

I used an RBI for my pre for thousands of shows. Not once did a sound company say anything except here's your line. Approx a year ago went to a GK combo with same results.

IME if a sound company/man is "upset" about what your rig is(as long as its professional) he has a problem, not you.

That being said, they love plug and play when it comes to bass.

Yup, I intended on having both DI's active. Purely for blending one distorted and one clean. Just to sound huge☝

On tour huh? Soundman wants the best possible signal from you. He may say sure I will run you a couple lines but unless you are somebody who's known for his dual signals (Billy Sheehan) he's just pulling your leg. But being on tour playing big shows who knows anything is possible.
