Is this an efficient setup? SVT + Avatar

New to bass. Thinking of pairing an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro (rated 4 ohms I think) with an Avatar B410 Neo Bass Cab (8 ohm, 1200w, Celestion BN10-300 Neo speakers, Foster Compression horn tweeter). Would this be considered an “inefficient” setup due to the ohm mismatch?

I would be running electric organ/keys through this a lot of the time, so I definitely need some good mid/high response, though obviously lows are my main concern.

I understand the basic idea of efficiency, just wasn’t 100% sure how to do the math.

What sucks is that I really like how light this cab is... seems to hang with Ampeg 4x10s that weigh 30 lbs more. Any other light cabs like this that are as well regarded?

the 3 pro puts 275watts into 8 ohms and 450 into 4. So one possible answer is yes, you aren't squeezing all the wattage you can out of the amp.

The more correct answer is that that bump in wattage would be negligible if you were still running four 10s of identical sensitivity.

if you like the way it sounds, it's fine

Since you're mentioning organ and keys, then something with a cone midrange might be what works for you. Do a search on "12/6" systems. Some of these are also being made using lightweight design techniques, and are available in kit form.

I sometimes run keys through my bass amp, which is just a one-way system, and while it gets the job done, the lack of high end on piano tones is noticeable.

Maybe that's why keyboardists invariably settle on the Fender Rhodes sound by the end of the night, because it sounds OK through any amp.
