Is this bass that ugly?

I'm asking if the idea of a exotic top with block abalone inlays is that absurd. See this one:

Dude, thats a Buckeye Burl Fodera.... That bass is GODLY.

How about if the block inlays are made from the same wood as the figured top? In this case it is a blue dyed maple burl top with block inlays cut from left-overs from the figured top and inlayed into a stabilized birdseye maple fingerboard (all wood from Gallery Hardwoods, mind you!)

Too many strings and looks uncomfortable to play, but the finish with the blocks is very pretty.

Now THIS is ugly. I'm think it's pretty darn well impossible to makeone of those boutique singlecut monstrosities anything but completely vomitrocious.
