To get both these tones from the same pre amp?

I play a Fender Jazz 4 string with flats.

Something in the ballpark of a Sans Amp product could do these??

I don't know if sansamp, tech21, rbi or rpm could get the first tone. maybe the second. I think Eden WT amps could get close to both, the first FOR SURE!

p.s. I use to own an RBI andDO own a eden wt550.

What tones does it do? and what recording pre-amp SHOULD I be looking at then to achieve the two tones in the youtube links?

I thiknt he Eden Navigator would be your best bet for getting both of those tones. There are enough options on there to get exactly what you want. The RBI rackmount unit is decent for the slap tone, but it is not very clean sounding. It's great for rock music, but I don't think you will get what you want out of it. By all means try one, but the Eden will give you a fat tone and will let the inherent character of your bass shine through wonderfully.
