Of course, but it’s also generally obvious to professional security who belongs and who doesn’t. Wannabe security is a different story…

Also depends on the venue, there were a few that I had a set of keys for, I rarely got hassled when I can enter at will and access all areas with keys.

Well sure. Sanders Theater is part of Harvard, so they have their own security and it was 1982, which was different times in terms of security. It was a safer time.

My first thought upon stretching out the pic was one of those awful BOSE bass cabs laying sideways.

I'd assume anyone like him, as well as anyone running sound would disagree, but each stage has its own personality. Maybe a long-held remnant in his rig that spends more time these days as a stand than in use(?).

There was also the venue I owned with my college roommate and a couple of other partners for 30 years. Occasionally, we would borrow staff from the other venues when things got very busy. All done with that phase of my career, 40 years was enough.

Here's a pic of the riser in question. It was crafted by Jacob Wilder, horn player with the symphony. It is chambered but NOT ported. Per those present, it is quite resonant and "plays nicely" with the stage and underlayment. As always, safety first: Jacob installed a back-bumper to keep the artist from sliding off mid-passage.

Saw the show last week man he looks 8’ tall on the stage. His tone was a little meh but I was in the mezzanine
