Is that Custom Shop or Fender Japan? I'm guessing that is a Telecaster bass with a Jazz pup added. I wonder what it sounds like. I always thought the old Telecaster basses sounded pretty good considering that huge humbucker in the neck position.

I just did a search for Fender TNB and found a few others arround on some Japan sites that I can't read, so it must be a real Fender.

I did not however find that color?

Fender Japan, model TNB-110SPL. I think they're discontinued, but some places still have em.

That's not a telecaster bass pickup, those had pole pieces like a P-bass, it looks exactly like a gibson mudbucker to me. No shame in that pickup on a fender, it has amazing lows and the jazz pickup has mids and highs, I can see this bass sounding pretty damn good.

i seen styx live in concert a while back at ribfest, and their bassist(ricky phillips) had a jet black one, i still have GAS for that thing, i wish i could afford it.
