Is this too crazy to be possible? (pup mod)

Okay, I want to take apart my ibanez srx2ex2's stock neck bucker and rewire it to be two separate pups, non bucking.

Can it be done and how would i go about doing it?

Is it a 4 conductor pickup? If so, you don't have to do anything but re-wire.

If you're unsure what 4 conductor means:

The pickup wire will contain 4 smaller wires, and probably a bare shield wire.


Otherwise, it's really not worth doing...since you'll probably destroy the pickup trying to do it.

Why non bucking? If you just wire it up so you can switch them in or out, or even put pots on them, they will still buck when you put them both on.

But what are you trying to accomplish?
