The One Arm Band! I love this. Vaudeville seems to be full of this kind of thing. It goes to show that everything imaginable has been done in show business, "one way or another".

It's a King Doublebass (the modern company, not the HN White Kings...) graphic from a couple of years back. I think it was on a t-shirt or something.

For what it is, I like it. It reminds me of old "Mad Magazine" comics. The old guy with the pipe, or the housewife imagining their current scenario being better than it really is...but the reader views the frame from a totally different perspective....

Hmm. A bit hard to explain Mad Magazine humour in writing, isn't it?

James, I do owe you an apology and I just called your shop and left a message asking you to call me collect so that I may do that in real time.
Some TBDB history for those of you that haven't been around for some time.
We had a bit of a blow-up here a couple years back concerning luthiers and how they were posting with the possibility of using TB as a free ad source. That was not true of James. I'm thinking he did that because it was easier and best to do it through his site. Whatever. Yes, the pics were on topic. I never said anything about that. I liked them. My five string 1888 Joeseph Bohmann DB is kind of linked to those double neck guitars and harp guitars were , at least some, a kind of invention of his.
Anyway, after that blow-up, a few important bass luthiers left the community. When I saw James' post I jumped the wagon. Again, my bad.

James dropped me an apology PM today, which of course, was not appropriate since I am the one who took the cheap shot.

If you've been around here much at all, you'll notice stuff like this goes away rather quickly because of other Threads coming in and being bumped. Nobody seriously wounded. (except our King guy, I hope).

Lessons learned- rough day on the playground.

I'm still absolutely blown away and inspired by the fellows in the link and their band.

I'm a vet and I'm terrified of the VA; never set foot in the place in 20 years.

I cleaned up my posts to keep everything on track.

I sure hope the flow of conversation in this thread isn't a sneak preview of what it is going to be like at the in-laws next week...
