Ishibashi Japan Fenders

I tried sending an e-mail to Ishibashi, its been a couple of days without a response. Anybody know how long it usually takes to hear back and do they sell CIJ Fenders to the USA?

The last time I sent an enquiry it was a few days before I heard back so just give it a couple more days, I would assume they are quite busy now because of the lead up to Christmas.

From what I know they still sell to the USA, just let them know where you are and they will give you the shipping cost.

Know any of the approximate prices on their Jazz basses?

I know for a fact they still sell to here, I emailed them about getting a sunburst Jaguar but ending up getting one on the bay for a little over 100$ cheaper.

If you want to find out the price go to the site and get the price in yen then do a yen to dollar or euro or whatever converter.

google a yen to dollar converter and calculate the price - I feel like I have heard people say that shipping is approximately $100 dollars but I don't know that first hand.

I paid about 600 € for my Jazz which I ordered last week, of which 100 € was shipping. The bass itself cost about 80 000 yen, which is about 500 €.

I got through to the website, dont ask me how though!

I found a CIJ lefty '62 Jazz Reissue on there for $584.31+$151 shipping. So I would imagine around $735.31 shipped.

I just saw a MIA righty '62 reissue for $1,434+shipping at musicians friend!

Half the price from Japan!?!?!

Sounds about right. Your talking about the Yen to Dollar conversion factor, plus the markup of US instruments is over 50%. Thats right on the money if you ask me. Just remember that they are marking them up over 50% in Japan as well, especially for a high volume dealer such as ishibashi.

Response time IME has been days to over 1 week depending on how busy they are.

For a guess-timate of TOTAL price, I've converted yen-to-USD here:

and add $120~$130 for EMS to the USA if you're just getting a bass and maybe in a lightweight gigbag.

A recent Greco that weighs a ton(the bass itself) PLUS a hardcase was $144

I got back an e-mail from Ishibashi today. $684 including shipping to the USA for a '62 Jazz Reissue Left Hand.

Thet said in the e-mail there may be import tax. Anybody know what the import tax runs?

not sure. I once got a guitar off ebay from Hong Kong. I had to pay an additional $75 at the post office. I think it was a customs charge or somethin'. Not sure if this is the same thing?

what is the site for ishibashi? I have been wantin' a 62 RI sunburst Pbass. I see some on ebay in parts. I thought they might have been discontinued but I see the dates on some of the bodies sayin' 2007.

I did a search on the US Customs website, just an FYI for everybody:

All guitars requiring an electric amplification have a 5% tariff.
