Issue after shielding my Squier CV Jazz

Using self adhesive alu foil, I have recently improved the shielding of my Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass with mixed results.
(This bass was originally shielded with conductive paint but not sufficiently so.)
Lining the cavities was easy and so was the back of the pick guard. The only un-accessible point is the small, drilled
channel from the bridge pickup routing to the control plate routing which I left as it was.

The neck pickup is now very quiet. Also when soloed there is no hum or buzz, even when using light dimmers in the same
circuit as the amp is hooked up to. (Amp is either LM II or EBS 1V2 preamp + QSC power amp.)
But as soon as I roll up the volume for the bridge pickup, I get a bit of HF buzz (from dimmed lights) and a bit of
static "crackle" and hum from the strings, noise that almost disappears as I touch the strings.
The bass behaved a bit like this before the extra shielding too, but the overall reduction in noise has made the bridge pickup
phenomena more apparent.

For some reason, the pickup wires are not shielded on this bass - there are separate wires for "ground" and "signal" for both
pickups. Will I need to replace the bridge pickup wires to get rid of the last buzz?

You probably need to shield the bridge pickup cavity and run a wire to attach that shielding to the rest of it, or whatever the lowest grounding point is. I have a CV jazz set up this way, with the shielding itself is the lowest ground point and continuity between the control cavity and the bridge pickup.
