Depends what you mean by "fix". The main appeal of that body is the patina of the paint. And since any attempt to fix the damage would require the body to be refinished, the appeal of the fixed body would be nil. So you'd pay $300 (good luck) and then put $300+ into "fixing" it, and end up with something that's essentially worthless.

IMO it's already in the "worthless" state.

if jaco or geddy would have played the same model and done that butchering themselves, it would now be a fender custom shop relic'd model that would sell north of $5000.

That ebay name sounds familiar wasnt he the guy selling a " 64 tort pickguard" for like 550$? And there were other overpriced "vintage" items if I remember correctly...

His name probably sounds familiar because he is a TB member. I am willing to bet money the same handle on both sites is the same guy, he is selling bass parts.

I don't know what etiquette is but you cannot bash TB members posts, I would assume price bashing is extended to ebay. I sooooo badly wanted to call out the guy with the $3000 used Warmoth bass but it was against forum rules since the ad was on TB.

Uh no! The huge difference being, Jaco and Geddy started with a great sounding Jazz Bass. The mudbucker version Tele Bass never sounded great, and I cannot think of one recording pro who made an album with one. Unlike the single coil version Tele which sounds fantastic.

Not that I can tell for sure, but that dude from Red one is playing, I think a Tele bass that is heavily modded. Has a mudbucker, a single coil and something else towards the bridge. A switchplate with 3 sliding switches for pickup selection and a big chunk of foam in front of the bridge. Something cool about that bass. Look for the Come and Get Your Love video.

Red Bone's bassist started with a 1953 single coil Precision Bass.
Yes it had been modded quite a bit. A TB'er now owns it.

Very Cool. I really thought it was an early one then I was told it was a Tele bass. Thanks for the info!

I hope however owns it left it as is. A lot of real Mojo in that one!

The bassist from Cake played one on Fashion Nugget. That's the only one I can think of.

That was their short-lived replacement bassist that played it.
Gabe Nelson their long time player used a split coil P and a J.
