Just back from a long fishing day (Strawberry Resevoir), so more tomorrow, but I spent about 3 good hours with the Lakland. All is well at this end.
Well I finally got to give the Rob Allen a good run through at practice. Bass is in as described condition (Thanks Thumper). The tone has got some big balls to it! 
I really liked the woody upright sound. Yes thank god for fretlines although I took Thumper's advice about playing on the lines down low and slightly before them on the higher strings. I didn't get any dirty looks from the band so I guess I did alright. It was a blast to play. I don't have any sound clips but you can go to:

I also appreciate the Lakland and it is as advertised. I used it again last nite and am getting quite attached to it. That's the 1st Lakland I've ever played where the bass control can be backed all the way off, PUPs panned to bridge, and it just kicks major booty!

Thumper the string are the DR's stainless that they sell on the Lakland website. I really like them alot. I'm looking forward to seeing your "group shot"
