I'm the world's most spoiled kid.

I just got back from Guitar Center and look at this!...

It's an Ampeg SVT 4x10 HLF.

Parent's paid $600 for it. (Thanks!)

It's not the greatest picture, but it does exist.

Now I just need a head to run it.

I can use my BassMan's 150 watt head, but soon I'm going to want/need something bigger.

The ports help make it a good stand alone cab, but I'll get a 15 later. Right now, I need to work on getting a bigger head.

Just played through one of these at GC in Stl. I agree no 15 needed. I was using a SVT350h solid state head and it sounded great.

The casters and tweeter control are nice features, but I love the sound!

I have used them for years and definately no 15 needed. I use an Ampeg SVP-Pro pre and a Peavey DCP1400x amp.

Sweet cab! I got mine brand new at a pretty attractive discount because I work for zZounds. Of course it has great low end due to the ports, but I'm absoultely loving the midrange tone.

I have to step in here, a little too much 15 bashing going on But I can't really comment, i've had little experience with ampeg, but I love their 15's

They seem very round and phat, its a little off topic but i wonder what an ampeg amp would sound with Trace Elliot cabs?

one friend: christmas: gibson classic gold top, $2400

first car: lexus is: $20,000 + insurance + all gas

OTHER FRIEND:

-2006 Mustang GT in black, $30,000 + insurance + gas...

well, my parents will let me use the jeep....

and for my birthday.... well, i may get 100 bucks... or something.

i did save up 2500 bucks from work though. cos i'm cool like that.

Congrats on the new aquisition! That's a great sounding cab, once you find a head you'll be even happier.

I agree with no-15 comments. I really don't think you'll need another cab. This thing pushes some incredible low as well as having great punch from the 10's. IMO, one of the best standalone cabs in its price range.
