  1. I'm the world's most spoiled kid. ;)

I just got back from Guitar Center and look at this!...

    It's an Ampeg SVT 4x10 HLF. :D

Parent's paid $600 for it. (Thanks!)

It's not the greatest picture, but it does exist.

Now I just need a head to run it.

I can use my BassMan's 150 watt head, but soon I'm going to want/need something bigger.
  2. nice! so next you're going to get a 15" to put underneath it?
  3. The ports help make it a good stand alone cab, but I'll get a 15 later. Right now, I need to work on getting a bigger head. :smug:

Just played through one of these at GC in Stl. I agree no 15 needed. I was using a SVT350h solid state head and it sounded great.
  9. The casters and tweeter control are nice features, but I love the sound!

    Bass sound I can feel!

I have used them for years and definately no 15 needed. I use an Ampeg SVP-Pro pre and a Peavey DCP1400x amp.

Sweet cab! I got mine brand new at a pretty attractive discount because I work for zZounds. Of course it has great low end due to the ports, but I'm absoultely loving the midrange tone.
  14. I have to step in here, a little too much 15 bashing going on :p But I can't really comment, i've had little experience with ampeg, but I love their 15's

They seem very round and phat, its a little off topic but i wonder what an ampeg amp would sound with Trace Elliot cabs?

    Btw, Sweet score Keith!!! :bassist:
  15. Ha! I read that to them and they got a good laugh. We're broke! :D
  16. way to be positive!

    *gives keith a sticker*

  17. I love my ampeg 15 incher ... congrats on the new cab :bassist: Its just a little too heavy for me :p

+1. *Points down to Sig* [/shameless plug] :D

Congrats on the new aquisition! That's a great sounding cab, once you find a head you'll be even happier.

I agree with no-15 comments. I really don't think you'll need another cab. This thing pushes some incredible low as well as having great punch from the 10's. IMO, one of the best standalone cabs in its price range.
